Hopping Around
(explained below)
I calmly replied, "How would you get around?"
His reply, "We could just hop!" He then proceeds to hop on his knees.
I questioned back, "What would we hop around on if we didn't have our feet OR knees?"
"Well," he said, "we would be like Veggie Tales."
To which I reply, "They just have bottoms."
So he tries to hop on his bottom.
"Hard, huh?" I asked him.
-- I do believe after trying out hopping on his bottom that he is grateful for his feet!
I am trying to teach Ethan some things, and by some of his replies, I know he is not the least bit interested. It is a learning game that can be done anytime, while on the road, eating, or playing, etc. Anyway, here are a couple of comments that left me with the realization that he doesn't care for learning right now! --
Sitting at the dinner table he calmly asked me - "Can I please finish my lunch?"
__________
Killer headache for me today (gone now!), so Shawn got lunch for the boys and as he was hurrying out the door he told Ethan to pray for mommy to get feeling better. Ethan said, "I don't want to pray too much!" -- I did hear him a few minutes later praying for me....probably because daddy said if he prayed and mommy got better she might take him outside!
Landon had his second nose bleed in less than 24 hours. He would throw up blood and whatever he had for the last meal he had just consumed, so today, here I am gagging along with him while trying to clean up. I was scared because he kept throwing up blood.
As you know, Landon says very little, but today he said a lot with only one word. While blood is pouring down his face, he asks, "Die?" Talk about scaring a mommy!

Tools for the Trade
and your children will become what you've made.
Please do your best, and please don't forget,
God gave you the tools for the trade!"
My own father helped lead me in the right direction by making certain guidelines for me as I was growing up and I am so thankful for this...I see it so clearly now that I am "on the other side of things"!
The bold, green words above were penned by Steve Chapman...Another lady and I sang this song Sunday morning. It was chocked full of instruction for fathers and also reminders of the great responsibility and privilege we have to take care of children and to train them.
Ethan sang for Sunday School..."He's Got the Whole World in His Hands"
1. The whole world
2. Mommies and the Daddies
3. The Yittle (little) Bitty Babies
Then he tagged it with "Happy Father's Day to Yew (you)" --

Outdoor Fun
We were headed down the drive when we saw this beautiful deer...Shawn actually saw her and her fawn earlier this week...Fun with the water hose...they would fill their dump trucks with water...playing in the water is great fun when it is hot outside.
I WAS watching my children while they were playing...just not at the moment Ethan decided to take the tricycle on the trampoline then proceed to ride in circles while Landon jumped!...
Ethan held a packet of seeds and proceeded to ask me what they were for.
After I gave an answer that seemed to satisfy him by explaining they will produce food, he asked, "Who came up with that idea?"

"Real" Food
Morgan has boarded the "rice cereal eating train". All aboard? I think...not. She is making horrid faces while mustering all her strength to get it down. Well, I'll keep shoving the cereal in if only she will keep gulping it down....sometimes you have to acquire a taste for things.
Morgan loves to sit in her chair while the boys eat breakfast. She gets amused while her brothers try to make her laugh and she grins while they interact with her.

Tire Changing - 101
Ahead of schedule - for once! - our clan piled into the van to head to the grocery than over to Wednesday night prayer meeting. Only minutes from home we heard a loud "pop". Pulling over to the side of the road, Shawn got out to see if something was wrong. Yep. Uh-oh! A flat tire! I spent the next 30 minutes getting educated on how to change a flat. (I was an eager student and was not forced to help. My husband can "do it all" without my "helpful" help.) I just am thankful we were not hurt (besides our pride - the "new" tire leaves a bit to be desired) and that Shawn was behind the wheel.
Never fear, if you ever have a flat while traveling with lil' ol' me....you bet your bottom dollar I will have you fixed and ready in know time flat. (Excuse the pun!) Yep, Handy Dandy Mel is at your humble service.
