Proverbs 31

"Her children rise up and call her...."

..."Mommy, mommy! Help. Shoes!"
..."Mommy, mommy! I don't want to wear these shorts. I want to wear my "down" pants."
..."Mommy, mommy! I had it first!"
..."Mommy, mommy! I don't wanna go to bed!"

Well, as you can see, my children are not at the age for any showering of praise (aka blessed)that I might wish would be vocalized, but they do give me wonderful kisses, hugs, and cuddles. I am extremely blessed to have such charming children. (Charming, yes. I would say this is not the case every moment of every day, but today, right now - charming.)

"She riseth early while it is yet dark..."

Laughter could be heard from my husband after this verse was read by the congregaion this morning. Yes, I did say laughter was heard! (At least I heard him and a couple of people around him.)
I do not fulfill this part of the wife/mother in the Bible. I "ariseth" when it is "yeteth" very "brighteth" "outsideth"!!!! My father did clarify that I did rise while yet dark to feed Morgan. But my husband was quick to clarify back - But she goes back to sleep! Aren't men grand?

Hallelujah! on the revised version "she ariseth while it is yeteth brighteth outsideth!" Aren't you glad your kids sleep in a little? I sure am! Although I do take a little teasing from my husband too . . .

How funny, Melanie! I got a kick out of "she ariseth while it is yeteth brighteth outsideth!" too! See, I think that since they didn't have all of our modern conveniences back then when Prov. 31 was written, it's a no-brainer that we should be able to sleep in nowadays and still get everything done!! :-P So, let's look at it that we're still fulfilling everything that needs to be done in much less time!! :-) Loved the pics too!

I'm with you Shandra!! I didn't think of it that way (modern conveniences!) I will definitely use this in my next "argument" with my hubby! :-)

I love your blog background!

Thanks for visiting my blog and for the nice comments.
I also, enjoy looking at other people's homes to get ideas.
Building a new home would be very exiting!

Great pics! I always cringe at that "early riser" verse too, but always cheer up at the ones that fit me better. (hee hee... don't preachers warn against that?) "strengtheneth her arms", (that's me! tossing hay bales!) "she is not afraid of the snow", (I love sledding!) "price is far above rubies" (just ask Joe about my expensive horse habit!), "she openeth her mouth with wisdom" (see above writings)... etc etc. See! We ARE virtuous!

Love, love, love the matching outfits!! You are blessed, my little one is an "early riser", I have no idea where he got this from.

You look beautiful! And I'm sure you are a Prov. 31 woman, just maybe not the "riseth early" type. :)
