Picture this: (Uncle) Ray Satterfield, gazing at the beautiful mansions in Heaven, when someone taps him on the shoulder. He turns to find two beautiful, intelligent looking girls staring at him with happy grins on their faces. Uncle Ray is staring into the eyes of his stillborn daughter, Carla, and my younger sister, Sarah (his niece). Oh, what a homecoming!
In my human mind, I am moved with raw emotion; I ache because my Uncle Ray has passed from this life - of what seems to be so far - a heart attack. And then on the flip side, my spiritual mind has me feeling envious that he has made it safely to the other side and is immensely happy.
What helps me so much is the fact that one of the last times I was with my uncle he was helping me with some church stuff. I was trying to get some outreach items printed, and I was needing some brains to help with the computer side. Uncle Ray took some time out of his evening and worked with me to figure out the problem. I am so grateful to have such wonderful memories of my uncle and to know that He was at peace with God when he passed away. What a fabulous story to tell my children and for me to remember and also to help me strive to make Heaven my destination - just as he did and now has done!
P.S. Why don't you make one of your famous pizzas for Carla and Sarah?
Until we see each other again, Your niece, Melanie Lynn

So sorry to hear of Ray's passing. We went to G.B.S. together back in the early 70's. May God's great comfort be yours.
Blessings,
Don Nichols

My heart aches with you. It was 38 yrs. ago tomorrow that my preacher dad died of a heart attack. We were living in Honduras at the time. So my thoughts today have been for you and your family as well as for Pammy Jo, Jordan and their families and your Aunt Melodie. I have tears in my eyes reading your wonderful tribute to "Uncle Ray". What wonderful memories you have and yet I know that you all are hurting deeply. Just know that we are praying for you. Love, Grandma Sankey

Oh Melly, my mom just told me (9:30 p.m. EST)... I am sooo sorry... I have very many nice memories of your Uncle Ray. We must make it to heaven... there are so many over there waiting for us!! We will be praying for you!
Melanie,
We are so very sorry for your whole family's loss. We deeply respected your uncle, and he will be deeply missed. Your words are moving and remind us all about what is truly important in this life...the next.
With Sympathy and Prayers,
Brant & Merrilee Luther
I completely understand your post. Initially it was with JOY that we let our mother slip into Heaven b/c I knew she was reunited with 5 of her babies lost through miscarriage and stillbirth. And several grandbabies as well as her parents and so many, many that had gone before her.
We will be praying for you all and the extended family that is grieving so.
We are sorry for your loss...I have thought of your mom and dad so often...so sad and yet so great for your uncle...no longer having to fight...=)
I was so sorry to hear about this yesterday... I know it was quite a shock for your family. Will be praying.
Our prayers have been with your family.
We too were saddened when we heard this news. Just seemed it couldn't be true. Our prayers are with you.
Heaven is richer now.
Thanks for your nice tribute. Your uncle was special to many, us included.
May the Lord give the needed comfort to you all.
